$60-80/hr or $145-150kOn-site in Wall, NJ 3 daysThey are seeking a BI (Business Intelligence) Lead to be responsible for designing, constructing, testing, optimizing and deploying solutions that transform data into meaningful and useful information for business purposes.
The BI Lead provides the vision on data strategies and sources, technologies, and best practice reporting and analytics capabilities.
The BI Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of business intelligence capabilities to the entire organization and is experienced in BI development and implementations, data architecture and data warehousing.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and Data WarehousingEnable self-service governance for data analysis and management, including creating and implementing policies and strategiesCommunicate with stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, and other departments to ensure that data is accurate and accessible to meet business needsMonitor data quality and accuracy and take action to resolve any issuesManage and develop a team of BI analysts and developersDevelop and implement business intelligence & analytics to support organizational initiativesAnalyze business requirements to design and develop optimal technical solutions using approved tools and methodologiesSupport full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and training for building BI solutionsBuild star schema data models, performing ETLs and validating results with business representativesDrive pragmatic approaches to solving key complex business problems through a variety of business intelligence tools.
Ability to bring the right data technique to solve the problem in an explainable manner to business partnersGrow the data and technical environment by researching new technologies and techniques to create efficient process around data extraction, security, aggregation and analytics, and governanceExecute advanced data analytics models with effective and practical short- and long-term actionable solutionsEstimate solution cost (including tools, tasks, complexity, resources and time)Collaborate with internal business units to better understand needs and provide necessary supportWork with power users of the analytics/reporting tools to advice on best practices for the business Intelligence reportingPresent information through reports/dashboards and visualizationSupport implemented BI solutions by:
monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issuesDocument and maintain BI solutionsEngage customers at all levels to understand challenges and needs to develop technical solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer and information science or related major.
Master's degree in business intelligence is desirable7
years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Data Factory, Data Warehouse, ETL, SQL Server, Informatica and BI developmentExperience with self-service governance, including creating and implementing policies and strategies2
years of hands-on experience designing and building data lake-based solutionsDemonstrated leadership capabilities that include articulating a vision of future trends for analytics, developing a detailed roadmap for the realization of that vision, and managing the resources to the successful development and implementationExperience modeling Oracle Cloud ERP data, SAP C4C, and IBM Maximo systems a plusKnowledge of cloud and hybrid-cloud implementations including IaaS, PaaS and SaaSExperience with a variety of business intelligence tools and applications, such data visualization, data mining and analytics, ETL/EDW, data processing, and data storage toolsAbility to write SQL queries, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databasesExperience with advanced visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
Expertise in creating the appropriate data visualizations to uncover patterns in data to answer business questionsExperience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, Informatica IICSExperience in design and development of data warehouse, data marts, and data lake technology stackExperience in utilizing cloud technologies for building BI solutionsExperience with best practices of Business Intelligence architectures and processes such as Star Schema/Kimball dimensional data modellingExperience within the Microsoft stack of technologies is preferredExperience deploying reporting and dashboard solutionsKnowledge of predictive and prescriptive analytics, data mining a plus (Python and R preferred).
Knowledge of the tools, technologies and practices needed to perform in-depth analysis of both structured transactional data, and semi-structured or unstructured dataHighly developed analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills, with a proven track record of using data to provide actionable business resultsExperience in validating an overall solution from the perspective of performance, scalability, security and capacityEffective communicator.
