Senior Administrative Services Technician

The Senior Administrative Services Team Technician is responsible for supporting the company's Medical Claims Operation located in Wall, NJ. Candidate should be flexible to perform multiple job functions as requested in a high paced environment.
Review of medical records to ensure proper coding was used in a medical provider's billing;
This requires review of applicable fee schedules, and use of coding materials and programs (i.e. CMS, AMA, Encoder)
Works with our Medical staff and/or vendors to confirm our coding decisions
Assists in preparation of position papers with our Litigation Staff to provide support in defenses to be argued within an arbitration setting
Specialty Bill Review of specific procedures of medical to ensure application of proper bill adjudication.
Project Handling; Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Perform research and compile data onto an excel spreadsheet for analysis.
Data Entry;
Manual entry of medical bills in a paperless environment using multiple software applications and dual monitors.
Keying of checks including payroll, interest, etc.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the various units within the claims department
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; College preferred but not necessary
Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, providers, and customers
Ability to participate in a teamwork approach to accomplish tasks
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of CPT coding guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology helpful but not necessary
Knowledge of the NJ PIP Fee Schedule, CMS/Medicare, NCCI, AMA helpful but not necessary
Hospital and Surgical Coding experience
Bachelor's degree
Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCA, CCS)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
