Technician, R&D

The R&D Laboratory Technician performs tests utilizingrequisite lab instruments. Under the leadership of the R&D managers, the R&D technician will be requiredto blend and tests newly developed lubricantproducts, evaluate new raw materialsand improve productsas novel technologies evolves. Reformulation of existing productto support production plant, marketing or field requirements. The R&D technicianwill simultaneously work on multipleprojects, report projectfindings and data directly to the R&Dmanagers. The position will expand knowledge and use of several analyticalinstruments and performspecial tests as needed. The technician will be responsible for records of measurements, reports,data management, laboratory maintenance, ordering supplies/consumables, equipment calibrationand good housekeeping. The laboratory technician must be familiarwith laboratory safe practices and use of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE). Technician will attend internal and external trainings and seminars.
The positionrelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functionsof the job and works under immediatesupervision of the R&D Managers.
Understand lubricant blending and testing
Review and learn PPE usage,chemicals and all safety practices
Become proficient with all laboratory equipment and relevantASTM methods
Maintain knowledgeof all required test proceduresand test specifications
Appropriate use of various test techniques/equipment to complete tasks as assigned
Accurately document tests resultsand communicate effectively at all levels
Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation
Completion of all tests in a safe and timely manner
Maintain data integrity and cleanliness of the laboratory and all equipment
Safe keeping of all test data, MSDS, Product/Certificates of analysis and orders
Receive and evaluateraw materials and samples from vendors and customers
Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals, supplies and consumables
Write laboratory procedures as needed
Ship lab-prepared samples to externaltest laboratory and customers
Assisting other technicians in the QC laboratory
Participate in housekeeping
Ability to work overtimeas required.
Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Science related field with 2 year industriallab experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
