Specialist, HSE

Develop, monitor, and maintain the organization's safety& Environmental program. Help develop, implement, monitor, and manage safety & Environmental programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures the organization complies with all current safety & Environmental regulations. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment to identify unsafe conditions that need improvement. Identifies and evaluates detrimental working conditions and makes adjustments to safeguard employee health. Researches and recommends safety equipment. Responsible for maintenance of safety and accident records. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness of site HSE programs, procedures and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop and drive site-specific HSE training programs such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), & Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
Perform HSE compliance audits/inspections.
Investigate safety/environmental incidents conducting root cause analysis and driving implementation of corrective actions.
Provide support and technical guidance to operations personnel to ensure programs are effectively implemented and maintained.
Drive HSE performance metrics/improvement across the site and ensure all metrics are monitored and maintained.
Promote HSE awareness, performance and engagement throughout the site.
Perform risks assessments for new tooling & equipment.
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor's degree in industrial or occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, or equivalent discipline.
1 year work experience or knowledge with compliance regulations and industry practices: OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.
1 -3 years of HSE work experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to address demands from multiple projects and people.
Good analysis and reporting skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and industry practices: OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.
Strong MS Office and presentation skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
