Basic Functions:
Develop, maintain and execute the cathodic protection (CP) of New Jersey Natural Gas' (NJNG) transmission and trunk pipeline systems in accordance with NJNG, (Standards, Operating, Maintenace, Emergency) (SOME), state and federal regulation requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Responsible for design and installation of impressed and galvanic CP systems on the company's transmission and trunk pipelines
Prepare and review work orders, material acquisition and purchase orders for new and existing CP systems
Monitor and test CP on the NJNG pipeline systems and complete required surveys
Monitor impressed current CP rectifiers and interference mitigation bonds, atmospheric and isolated 10 percent sections as per company standards and code requirements
Troubleshoot CP structures not meeting SOME or regulatory requirements and determine steps to establish compliance
Perform interference testing on distribution and transmission pipeline, design and
install mitigation
Conduct intercompany corrosion field testing with other operators of underground structures and CP systems; evaluate data to ensure no detrimental effects on the company's
pipeline facilities
Review facility installation plans and provide recommendations for installations on new steel pipeline systems with other departments as needed
Provide technical assistance to corrosion engineers and technicians as needed
Represent the company in coordinating inspections with representatives of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities; maintain effective relationships with personnel from other utilities, engineering firms, suppliers, etc., to ensure an ongoing exchange of information
Represent the company at scheduled New Jersey Committee on Corrosion (NJCC) meetings and prepare required documentation for impressed current and mitigation bond installations
Conduct work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations
Work with team members to develop ways of performing more efficiently for
continuous improvement
Coach team members and provide feedback in developing technical skills and maintaining safe practices on the job
Maintain operator qualification as required by job description
Maintain a safe work environment by following company approved safety requirements
Position Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and certification by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) required
A minimum six years of experience in CP and corrosion control technology or a related field or the combined equivalent of education and experience is required
Knowledge of NJNG, SOME and pipeline construction, inspection, CP and pipeline
coating practices
This safety sensitive position requires this individual to submit to random drug and alcohol testing as defined under 49 CFR 199
Individual must have operator qualifications requirements as defined under 49 CFR 192 subpart N

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
