Construction Coordinator Technician

New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Construction Coordinator Technician I to coordinate and oversee the installation of natural gas facilities to ensure their compliance with state and federal regulations and company standards. Evaluate contractor daily performance and quality of work, and maintain compliance records. Focus on maintaining superior customer satisfaction related to the construction processes. Work with company contractors to resolve construction related issues. Develop relationships with various state and municipal agencies. Night work and overtime may be required with possibility of moving to a Tuesday-Saturday schedule in the future if necessary.
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate new business construction work on a day-to-day basis in a timely, cost effective, and safe manner
Facilitate installation time frames with customers and builders
Represent the company at builder preconstruction meetings
Release new business to contractors as required, verifying completion of paperwork and permits
Prepare service work orders as required for new business services
Become proficient with company construction standards, procedures, bid documents and construction techniques
Evaluate contractor's daily performance and quality of work and maintain records related to contractor work quality and performance; assist contractors with resolving construction issues in the field
Resolve first level billing disputes between the contractor and the company
Review field construction against contractor invoices for billing accuracy
Ensure the accurate and correct completion of company construction records
Position Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction technology or related field is preferred
Minimum of five years of experience in utility construction or related field, or the combined equivalent of education and experience
General knowledge of company construction standards and practices. Knowledge of JD Edwards and UCIS work order system
Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, crawling and/or reaching required
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
Frequent exposure to hazardous or unusual conditions; subject to outside environmental conditions
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; if the use of arm and leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
