Sr. Business Application Developer

New Jersey Resources is seeking a Sr. Business Application Developer to contribute to the development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications. Collaborate with assigned stakeholders to define detailed requirements and system interfaces, assess available technologies, develop and present solutions utilizing a variety of new computing architectures. Provide technical guidance on complex projects.
Major Responsibilities:
Evaluate and make recommendations to business areas to leverage existing software functionality or incorporate additional technology options to gain full benefits
Share 'best in class' and 'industry standards' knowledge of business functions within current technology software portfolio and to additional solutions when required
Provide business analysis and programming expertise within an assigned business unit, usually as a project lead, on efforts in the analysis, design and development of business applications
Keep informed of advancements in new and evolving technologies by participating in training and professional development opportunities
Serve as a senior level analyst to gather requirements and develop system design specifications and document processes for new and revised information systems
Lead application development projects, new software selection and installations and business process improvement efforts
Lead reporting efforts by gathering data and presentation requirements (e.g. standard reports, dashboards and metrics)
Work with IT staff and contractors to provide system requirements and ensure objectives are met
Work independently in the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of systems of moderate size/complexity with fast turnaround
Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed program specifications, and design, code, test, debug and document programs
Control schedule and actual completion dates for new or revised systems
Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating and identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions
Oversee and assure testing and debugging techniques are used effectively in the development and maintenance of any given system
Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system and computer capabilities
Recreate steps taken by user to troubleshoot and locate source problem and rewrite program to correct errors
Monitor performance of program after implementation
Lead projects and regularly coach other personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with standards and established methodologies
Position Specifications:
Position requires Bachelor's degree, computer science degree or a minimum of five year's relevant work experience required. Detail oriented with strong written and oral communications skills. Must have proven experience successfully handling multiple deliverables. Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced deadline driven environment and collaborate efficiently as a team member.
Required Technical Skills and Experience:
Minimum five years Microsoft SQL Server experience, including stored procedures, functions, views and database triggers
Minimum five years Microsoft Visual Studio development experience utilizing VB.net language and Windows Forms applications
Crystal Reports for .Net Framework or equivalent Crystal Report development experience
Deployment of Client/Server applications on a Windows based platform experience
Experience with Aligne Trade and Risk Management System - SunGard is a plus
Java/HTML and VB.NET programming
Service applications experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
