Risk Control Analyst

New Jersey Resources is seeking a Risk Control Analyst responsible for risk reporting and system configuration in order to maintain data integrity for reporting and output. The Risk Control Analyst will work closely with team members to assure compliance with the Risk Policy and provide regular and ad-hoc reporting. Contribute to the development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications and provide specialized technical knowledge to applicable projects.
Major Responsibilities:
Support risk control functions; monitor trading activities for natural gas, power and renewables for both physical and financial products to facilitate proper reporting of the risks and transaction capture and processing
Update and support system configuration to maintain data integrity in the system of record, Aligne.
Produce risk reports and analysis using information from various systems for Risk Management Committee (RMC) meetings
Create RMC meeting minutes and manage all documentation and communications related to discussion items; participate in ongoing review and approval of risk management guidelines
Utilize energy trading and system domain knowledge to design, implement and provide support for enhancement projects
Assist in the research, testing and development of additional risk reporting tools as required
Work closely with IT to develop and design analytical tools and improve underlying risk system infrastructure
Monitor control environment, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Responsible for reporting for variance agencies including Dodd-Frank, Index Price Reporting and Canadian Import/Export Reporting
Perform special projects as assigned
Position Specifications:
Bachelor's degree required; finance, business, economics or accounting preferred
Minimum of five years of experience in a similar function within energy commodities
Strong knowledge of the North American natural gas, power, and renewable markets; hedging and risk management practices experience preferred
Working experience with risk management systems is required; knowledge of SunGard/Aligne products is a plus
Ability to develop and maintain financial models (Excel, VBA, SQL)
Continuous improvement mindset, utilizing tools to streamline and automate objectives
Strong business analysis skills, modeling capabilities, research and problem solving skills, computer skills, technologically oriented
Self-starter, highly motivated, results oriented
Proficiency with MS Office software

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
